KLIMB FOR THE KURE - KILI 2009

Sway & Cake, and Tamara Donaghy-Bates (in picture above, right, with Liz Weber, left) was so wonderful to host a fundraiser that included shopping and champagne. The clothes at the store are so fabulous it was hard to decide what to buy! And there are so many wonderfully smelling candles. I stocked up on Christmas presents with a bunch of those candles! And they also have really cute children and baby clothes. I got my new niece, Alden, a pair of warm socks, so her little toesies stay warm in her first NYC winter.
Tamara and her staff were so much fun! They had great music and appetizers, and were so helpful when it came to putting outfits together. Thanks again Sway and Cake! Let's do it again!!

P.S. This weekend is the Port Angeles Fundraiser, hosted by the Ralston family!!

Training for the climb continues as Coach Carla, far right, gets us in shape at her studio, the Wilcox Boxing Studio, in Seattle. She and her team of boxers, including Paul and Henry, have dedicated their time to get our Team Kili into excellent shape! WE LOVE THEM!! THANKS GUYS!!

The training for Klimb for the Kure has begun. So far we have done two hiking trips, up Mt. Si and up to Snow Lake on Alpental. We are also boxing twice a week with Coach Carla Wilcox, she is really whipping us into shape! It is fun our group is coming together and starting to create a special bond. I know the actual climb up Kili is going to be harder than anything we are doing, but knowing we are all doing it together is really exciting. Till next time! - Courtney B.

    KLIMB FOR THE KURE

We are a Seattle group setting out to raise $1 million for the Hereditary Disease Foundation by climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in February 2009. Each of us is affected by Huntington's Disease in one way or another, personally, and through friends and family. We are determined to do anything to get the cure!
